Parminder Chahal, Ph.D.

Parminder Chahal is a Senior Research Officer in the Bioprocess Engineering Department of Human Health Therapeutics Research Center, National Research Council of Canada, Montreal, Canada with over 20 years of experience in process development for the productions and purifications of viral vectors and virus-like particles, keeping in mind the processes can be directly transferable to cGMP facilities by demonstrating up to 500 L scale.  For the last couple of years he is mainly involved with Lentivirus and Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) related projects to improve the yield, to improve the production and the purification processes, and to develop analytics for proper quantification of viral vectors.   Parminder earned his PhD in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering from University of Western Ontario, London, Canada, a MASc in Chemical Engineering at University of Ottawa, Canada, and a BASc from University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
